Qualification/Experience Requirements: AAT or similar, HND level qualifications, good accounting and book-keeping experience

Type of Resource: F/T – Some home working may be possible

Travel: Minimal – must be able to drive and willing to travel within Ayrshire. Occasional travel outside Ayrshire may be required (travel will be paid)

Scale and Size of Role
Working within a growing Accountancy and Financial Management firm to provide accountancy services to small business and charities. The role will focus on managing the practice and providing accountancy (up to and including IRIS or Xero tax filing and companies house), book-keeping, VAT and payroll services (this will be completed by another member of staff) to a number of clients.
The role will be to manage two accounts assistants (one full time and one part-time) whose focus is on bookkeeping, payroll and office administrative duties.
The role will also involve working with the Directors to build and develop the practice. This will include some networking and meeting with prospective new clients. This is not just a back-office role it is to assist in building an accountancy business.

Key Skillset
• Excellent numerical skills
• Book-keeping/accounts preparation – either a single client or within an accounting practice
• Xero and IRIS expertise would be preferable
• VAT return completion
• Payroll creation would be advantageous

• To develop working practices and processes to allow the accountancy practice to expand further
• To become the lead accountant for a growing client base (Sole Trader, Self-Assessment, Limited Companies and Charities)
• To be the key client liaison with all new clients – to build relationships and retain clients
• Book-keeping and other accounting services for both this company and for a growing client base using Xero and IRIS alongside other accounting software
• To manage all back-office related activities for the accountancy side of the business
• All other ad-hoc related activities to assist in the management of the practice and other activities to assist the Directors to develop and grow the business
